With the horse standing still and trusting them fully. Probably due to the presence of Lissa their carer.
We spend an hour and a half there. I enjoy my lunch with the views of the horses grazing at the foot of the blue Langeberg Mountains, while the kids enjoy their riding lessons. Some Fridays I have to cancel this weekly appointment, at the dismay of my kids. This is their safe haven where they can unwind without any pressure of competitiveness and expectations.
I can only imagine how serene this farm must feel to others if I (a local) still get mesmerized by this. Good news is that for those just traveling by, Appelsbosch does offer guided horse riding trails on appointment.
It is truly refreshing to see the love and passion they have for these horses at Appelsbosch Stud Farm. Give them a call and experience this yourself.
